Why more women are only too happy to stay childless…
It’s considered the ultimate taboo for any woman. In this day and age, to admit that you don’t want children is seen as practically the same as saying Adolf Hitler had a point. It’s best to keep your beliefs to yourself. After all, we live in a world where fertility and motherhood can practically elevate you to living sainthood – just ask Angelina Jolie.
But Cameron Diaz doesn’t quite see it that way and, while publicising her first movie role as a mother in My Sister’s Keeper, she defended those women who don’t want to have children, saying that there are enough people already on this planet and that we don’t need any more kids.
“I think women are afraid to say that they don’t want children because they’re going to get shunned,” the actress said in an interview with Cosmopolitan. “But I think that’s changing too now. I have more girlfriends who don’t have kids than those that do. And honestly? We don’t need any more kids. We have plenty of people on this planet.”
While there are lots of reasons to not want to procreate, not many people say it’s because children aren’t eco-friendly.
But one woman who would agree with the actress is Toni Vernelli. The British woman works for an environmental charity and says she was sterilised at the age of 27 in order to reduce her carbon footprint.
Having accidentally fallen pregnant 10 years earlier, she had begged the doctor who was performing the termination to sterilise her at the same time.
He refused, but that didn’t stop her hunting for someone who was willing to perform the surgery. Eventually, she found a surgeon who was willing to oblige.
“Having children is selfish. It’s all about maintaining your genetic line at the expense of the planet,” said Toni.
“Every person who is born uses more food, more water, more land, more fossil fuels, more trees and produces more rubbish, more pollution, more greenhouse gases, and adds to the problem of over-population.”
This may be an extremist view, but lots of women are ambivalent about reproducing, especially those who put career ahead of family.
Comment from Wise Up Journal:
The above information only makes up part of this Irish Independent article which covers many different aspects of the issue, but the start of the article shows the true face/nature of many people involved in the big business and big Government backed man made global warming con.
While most people/organisations involved in promoting global warming put on a act of being loving and only want to do what is best for the Earth and the worlds population; if you scratch the surface you can see a completely different picture. One in which every human is judged based on how high or low their carbon footprint is, the bigger your family is the bigger the carbon footprint therefore the bigger threat to the Earth you are.
The truth is while most ordinary people who do believe man-made global warming is a real treat to the world population have good intentions, the people at the top believe that the world’s population needs to be radically decreased and be heavily regulated from birth to death. Depopulation quotes pop up more and more now in the media originating from a minority of people (at the top), the likes of Ted Turner, Prince Charles, Bill Gates, David Rockefeller, Maurice Strong, and Cameron Diaz’s even wealthier ex-boyfriend to name but a few. The dominant minority back up their agendas with heavy promotion/propaganda using their vast wealth and resources to ensure we comply with all the measures and freedom restriction laws the brought and paid for (or ‘true’ believing) politicians are discussing bring in with global warming treaties.
The sad irony in the above article promoting sterilisation to reduce the population’s carbon footprint as “we don’t need any more kids” would most likely have Hitler, if he was alive today, claiming to be one of the best carbon footprint offsetters to the glee of his supporters. Unfortunately that satire on Hitler is too close to the present day truth. China has a strong abortion policy when it comes to women wanting more than one child who can’t pay the extra child fine/tax. On August 30th 2007 Reuters reported: “avoiding 300 million births ‘means we averted 1.3 billion tonnes of carbon dioxide in 2005’ based on average world per capital emissions of 4.2 tonnes, he said [Su Wei, a senior Foreign Ministry official]. China says its one-child policy has helped the fight against global warming by avoiding 300 million births, the equivalent of the population of the United States. ‘Population is clearly an important factor,’ said Yvo de Boer, head of the U.N. Climate Change Secretariat.”
The views expressed by Cameron Diaz in the above article is not the first time she has shown herself to be far less humane then her public (PR) persona would like the general public to believe, as the paragraph below will show.
CBC, June 23, 2007: “Actress Cameron Diaz has created controversy in Peru for a fashion faux pas concerning a Maoist slogan imprinted on her bag. She carried an olive green bag adorned with a red star and the words “Serve the People” printed in Chinese characters. The phrase is considered one of the most famous political slogans of Mao Zedong, the former leader of the Chinese Communist Party.. The words have particular resonance in Peru, where the Maoist Shining Path movement terrorized citizens during the 1980s to early 1990s with a deadly campaign of bombings and massacres. Nearly 70,000 people died during that period.” –
